La ricerca artistica di Silvia Infranco nasce dall'osservazione dei processi di trasformazione che attraversano la materia e il tempo. Al centro del lavoro si colloca l'attenzione per ciò che si deposita, si modifica, permane o scompare: tracce, memorie, forme di vita e saperi che trovano nella materia organica un luogo di conservazione e di continuo mutamento.
Attraverso l'impiego di cera d'api, acqua, pigmenti, ossidi, carte ed elementi vegetali, l'artista sviluppa processi lenti di stratificazione, assorbimento e sedimentazione nei quali il tempo agisce come componente attiva dell'opera. Le superfici diventano così luoghi di attraversamento, capaci di accogliere eventi e trasformazioni che si inscrivono nella materia lasciando segni, alterazioni e affioramenti.
Negli anni più recenti la ricerca si è orientata verso il mondo vegetale e le pratiche della cura, attraverso lo studio di erbari, farmacopee e tradizioni legate all'uso delle piante. In questo ambito l'interesse si concentra sulle modalità con cui esperienze, conoscenze e memorie vengono custodite e trasmesse, intrecciando dimensione naturale e culturale.
Le opere prendono forma dall'incontro tra intenzione e trasformazione, tra gesto e processo, accogliendo l'imprevedibilità propria dei materiali. Più che rappresentare il mondo naturale, ne condividono i tempi e le dinamiche, restituendo visibili fenomeni spesso impercettibili e suggerendo una riflessione sulla fragilità, la persistenza e la continua capacità di trasformazione che caratterizza ogni forma vivente.

Silvia Infranco’s artistic practice stems from an observation of the processes of transformation that run through matter and time. At the core of her work is an attention to what settles, changes, endures or disappears: traces, memories, forms of life and bodies of knowledge that find in organic matter a site of preservation and continual change.
Working with beeswax, water, pigments, oxides, paper and plant materials, the artist develops slow processes of layering, absorption and sedimentation in which time acts as an active component of the work. Surfaces become sites of passage, able to receive events and transformations that inscribe themselves in matter, leaving marks, alterations and emergences.
In recent years, the research has turned towards the plant world and practices of care, through the study of herbariums, pharmacopeias and traditions associated with the use of plants. Within this field, the focus lies on the ways in which experiences, knowledge and memories are preserved and transmitted, intertwining natural and cultural dimensions.
The works take shape through the encounter between intention and transformation, gesture and process, embracing the unpredictability inherent in materials. Rather than representing the natural world, they share its rhythms and dynamics, making often imperceptible phenomena visible and inviting reflection on the fragility, persistence and ongoing capacity for transformation that characterise all living forms.
