La ricerca sviluppata nel 2025 e 2026 approfondisce un'indagine avviata negli anni precedenti sulle pratiche di cura legate al mondo vegetale e sui sistemi di conoscenza custoditi negli erbari, negli archivi e nei giardini storici.
Condotto tra Il Palmerino, il complesso di Sant'Orsola, l'Archivio di Stato di Firenze, la Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale, l'Orto Botanico e il Museo della Specola, il progetto mette in relazione due differenti dimensioni del giardino di cura fiorentino: quella familiare, legata all'esperienza botanica di Fiorenza Angela Parretti della tenuta de Il Palmerino, e quella monastica, testimoniata dalla tradizione terapeutica del complesso di Sant'Orsola. I due giardini, insieme a piante, oggetti, documenti e pratiche terapeutiche, diventano fonti attraverso cui osservare le modalità con cui memorie, esperienze e saperi si conservano e si trasformano nel tempo.
Partendo da fonti storiche, raccolte botaniche e pratiche terapeutiche tradizionali, la ricerca si concentra sul rapporto tra trasformazione, conservazione e cura, osservando come materiali organici e conoscenze sedimentate possano ancora oggi generare nuove forme di relazione con il presente.
La ricerca costituisce il punto di partenza di un nuovo ciclo di lavori, destinato a svilupparsi attraverso successive esposizioni e pubblicazioni.

The research developed throughout 2025 and 2026 expands an investigation initiated in previous years into practices of care associated with the plant world and the systems of knowledge preserved in herbaria, archives and historic gardens.
Conducted across Il Palmerino, the Sant'Orsola complex, the State Archives of Florence, the National Central Library of Florence, the Botanical Garden, and the Museum of La Specola, the project brings together two distinct dimensions of the Florentine healing garden: the domestic garden, rooted in the botanical experience of Fiorenza Angela Parretti at Il Palmerino, and the monastic garden, represented by the therapeutic tradition of the Sant'Orsola complex. These two gardens, together with plants, objects, documents and healing practices, become sources through which to investigate how memories, experiences and knowledge are preserved, transmitted and transformed over time.
Drawing upon historical sources, botanical collections and traditional healing practices, the research focuses on the relationship between transformation, preservation and care, exploring how organic materials and accumulated knowledge can still generate new forms of engagement with the present.
The research forms the basis of a new body of work that will unfold through forthcoming exhibitions and publications.
